Saved, Being Saved, or Both? Ephesians 2:8-9.

"What saith the Scriptures"

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." AV (KJV)

"...for by grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, that no man should glory." RV/ASV

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." NKJV

"For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." MKJV

"...for by the grace ye are having been saved, through faith, and this not of you—of God the gift, not of works, that no one may boast." Literal Translation (Robert Young). Mr. Young offers an accurate translation, by providing the true strength of the present and past participles, viz. “ye are having been…”;  you are saved, having been saved - saved now in the present because you were saved in the passed.

"Denn aus Gnade seid ihr selig geworden durch den Glauben [Trans. For by grace you have been saved through faith], und das nicht aus euch: Gottes Gabe ist es, nicht aus den Werken, auf daß sich nicht jemand rühme." German (Luther)

The Greek here (εστε σεσωσμενοι) means "having done AND doing". So we are saved and are being saved. We cannot "be being" unless "we are" already, as the latter is the product of the former.
