"Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

Matthew 28:18-20

"Teach all nations". The word translated teach (μαθητεύω mathēteuō) means to "make pupils", i.e disciples. It was John Wesley who said, "The church changes the world not by making converts but by making disciples." The mission of the disciple is to make disciples, not coverts to a cause. This is done by taking up the Cross and following Jesus. Jesus' destination was Calvary. It is the work of the disciple to lead others to the Jesus of Calvary. If we don't lead people there we will lead them astray.
